Devon chippy group scoops our sustainable fish supper award
The Rockfish Seafood group, owned by UK chef Mitch Tonks, has won the Good Catch Award at this year’s National Fish and Chip Shop Awards.
The six restaurants were awarded the accolade by judges from MCS and the Marine Stewardship Council, with whom we sponsor the award. Good Catch aims to encourage sustainable sourcing in the fish and chip shop industry and help diners to eat fish from fisheries and fish farms that are minimising their impact on the marine environment.
Cafe Rouge and Bella Italia are the high street restaurants performing the best when it comes to seafood sustainability, whilst Prezzo, Wetherspoons and Itsu are doing the worst. Eleven chains and pubs have been assessed by us and ratings organisation Fish2fork.
